Um, I went to catholic school for k-8, and I dont remember that lesson. God is god and Jesus is his son, if you believe in that fairy tale. I really don't see how people can. Believe me I'd like to think everything is going to be ok once you die, but sadly, I think that may be it.

Just lets say, God is supposedly all knowing, right?

And he created man with freewill, right?

But if he is all knowing, he would have known in advance how badly we were gonna screw this all up, right?

SO why would a loving God, have genocide and wars, and starvation of children and dudes like Hitler.

I mean why even bother, is he just a cruel jokester? Doesnt sound very loving to me.

    Whatevs.

Free will is the potential for love and also suffering. No freedom would have neither love or suffering. There are only two possibilities. If you want one you have to accept the potential for the other too. We are not automatons.

But God would already know the outcome, there would be no possibilities involved with God, so why bother I ask? Seriously, if you ponder it long enough, it makes absolutely zero sense, sorry crazy god people.

He asked his disciples what the people speak of him.
They named some thing's, they asked are you a prophet?
He shrugged and one spoke out and said your the son of god.
He smiled and agreed and took the name of being "the son of god"

He said married people are one. He prayed  that the children of God be one (in one accord, not God) as they were one

To show what he meant, the following verse shows it He wants the disciples to be one as he and his father, the disciples can't be one person
John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Yes! Jesus is God bodily. St John 1st chapter. In the beginning was the WORD, the WORD was GOD. Keep reading The WORD was MADE FLESH and DWELT among us.(Jesus). And Yes! he claim to be God, the woman at the well, blind Bardamaus and to Pilate and High Priest in Matthew 26 and in Mark he tells the High Priest Mark 14:61,62.  Praise the Lord for what it means to all mankind!

In Matthew 26:24 he called himself the “son of man”

In Mark 14, he said he was the son of the blessed and did not say he was God

61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ

Yes, God spoke the word and Jesus became an embryo inside Mary. All other people were formed, taken from a rib by God or reproduced. Jesus was the only one that came about through the spoken word. Meaning God said it would happen and it happened

No, the Word was God and the word which was God was made flesh, that means God became flesh. You cannot separate the word from the one speaking.

No He is not The One God Almighty. There are many Gods but the commandments say not to put any ABOVE him.  Yahshua never claimed to be. Anyone saying he did needs to post scripture where he said it. He claimed to be the son of God and he claimed to be one (in accord) with God.
All four Gospels record Yahshua (Jesus) as saying, "Blessed are the peacemakers; they will be called sons of God."
The word ‘son’ cannot be accepted literally because in the Bible, God apparently addresses many of his chosen servants as ‘son’ and ‘sons.’ The Hebrews believed God is One, and had neither wife nor children in any literal sense.  Therefore, it is obvious the expression ‘son of God’ merely meant ‘Servant of God’; one who, because of faithful service, was close and dear to God as a son is to his father.

To a Christian, God had to take human form to understand temptation and human suffering, but the concept is not based on any clear words of Jesus. (As though God, who knows everything would not already know) God does not need to be tempted and suffer in order to be able to understand and forgive man’s sins, for He is the all knowing Creator of man.  This is expressed in the verse:
‘And the Lord said: ‘I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their pains.’ (Exodus 3:7)

God forgave sin before Jesus’ appearance, and He continues to forgive without any assistance.  When a believer sins, he may come before God in sincere repentance to receive forgiveness.  The offer to humble oneself before God and be saved is made to all humankind.
‘And there is no God else beside Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside Me.  Look to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else.’ (Isaiah 45:21-22, Jonah 3:5-10)

According to the bible, people can receive forgiveness of sins through sincere repentance sought directly from God.  This is true always and in all places.  There has never been a need for the so-called intercessory role Yahshua plays in attaining atonement.  The facts speak for themselves.  There is no truth to the Christian belief that Yahshua died for our sins and salvation is only through Yahshua. What about the salvation of people before Yahshua? Yahshua’ death brings neither atonement from sin, nor is it in any way a fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

      Beautiful, DS.

Yehoshua made it clear that we need to give up our "earthly" self -- the ego -- in order to return to the oneness. Love is the biggest part of this.

First (egotistical) shall be last; last (humble) shall be first

I can find nowhere in the bible where Jesus claims to be or even alludes to being God.
    John 5:18
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God

(the others said Jesus made himself equal to God, but Jesus didn’t)
(He also did not break the Sabbath because he healed someone)

Jesus replied and said that he couldn’t do anything of himself, but God showed him

    John 5
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

I am a Christian and have been in the Christian religion all my lfe but I’ve never been taught that Jesus was God

No Jesus is not God. He is God's Son.  Growing up I went to church with my mother and father every Sunday.  We also went to bible studies on Tuesday's and Thursday's...I do not recall ever being taught that Jesus is God.  Neither do I remember then or now where it would state that in the Bible.

Son of Man refers to Daniel 7:13-14. ...there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations, and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away.
In other words, The Son of Man is a title of great exaltation, not of mere humanity. For further information, read The Reliability of the Gospels, by Craig Bloomberg. Jesus also stated the he could forgive sins (in the synoptics) All the things he claimed for himself were the things that God claims. The term "Son of Man" is thought by those unfamiliar with in-depth scriptural research, to be a statement of mere humanity, but in fact, it is a very Bold term indicating sameness with God or Divinity.  So the answer is yes, Jesus did make the claim to be God.
For anyone who cares, Bloomberg is considered to be one of our foremost authorities on the gospels. (He received his doctorate fro Aberdeen University in Scotland.) This God question is one of those cases where a person cannot simply use their "inner knowing." There is a difference between fact (serious research) and fluff (distorted research/opinions). For example, we can believe that a rock is really a pear, because that is somehow "one's reality," but the fact remains that a pear is a pear, whether you think it is or not. In other words, we can deny facts, but the facts remain.

Many people assert that he unequivocally stated his divinity throughout the gospels of the New Testament.

I don't think he ever claimed to be God. But he did claim to be the only path to God and the son of God, which wasn't much different in the eyes of the Jewish Pharisees.

The book Liar, Lord, Lunatic answers this question under the assumption that Jesus did indeed claim that he was the Lord.
